Puikoilla 4 1/2 sain tiheydeksi sileällä 19sx28krs. Lanka koostuu neljästä kikkuraisesta säikeestä. Neulos on kuohkeaa ja täyteläistä, yksittäisiä silmukoita on vaikea erottaa. Värejä ei ollut valittavana kuin muutama, suklaanruskea puhutteli eniten: ajattelin tästä pitkää neuletakkia.
Kiva ja kevyt neuloa, langassa on ns. teknistä joustoa vaikkei mitään lycraa tai eliteä sisälläkään.

Needle 4 1/2 gave a gauge of 19 st and 28 rows per 10cms. Yarn consists of four curly strands.
The swatch is spongy, almost mossy. Single stitches barely stand out. Colour range was modest, this chocolate brown spoke to me and announced readiness to become a longish cardigan.
Knitability is high, it is easy to work with. No stranding whatsoever. There's some technical stretch in yarn although no lycra or elite is included.
Jotain kesälankaakin vielä FILATIsta, Müürivahe 20. Tämä merenelävä lähti mukaan lähinnä värinsä vuoksi. Tykkään periaatteessa valkoisesta pukeutumisvärinä, ja tässä langassa vaihtelee luonnonvalkoinen puhtaamman valkoisen kanssa.

Nelosen puikko, 18sx27krs tiheys. Jotain puserontapaista voisi ajatella, lankaa on 11 kerää. Ehkä pintaneuletta vaikka korinpohjana, ettei tuo raitaisuus pukkaa pahasti esiin. Saa ehdotella.

The swatch has some serious stripey effect. I wonder if my hand really differs so drastically between purl and knit rows?
Needle #4 gave a gauge of 18st and 27rows. I have 11 balls of this yarn which should do for a sweater. Maybe basketweave? Some structure to prevent the striping. Suggestions welcome.
Tarkastaja urheana työssään. Peppunsa alla villabambuaran, josta valmiina jo hihat, takakappale ja toinen etukappale, loppusuoralla siis! Mippe näkyy neulovan samaa, Jaegerin Merinosta.
Tosin viimeistelyyn menee aikaa, neulotaanhan tähän erikseen päälleommeltavat pikkutaskut, kapea palmikkokaitale joka ommellaan kiertämään etu- ja alareunat sekä vihonviimeisenä isohko kaulus. Mahdottoman kiva neule tehdä, tarpeeksi vaihtelua ja palaset valmistuvat suht. nopeasti. Ainakin hihoista tulee tarpeeksi pitkät.
Inspector bravely at work. Under her soft bum there's the back of wool&bamboo aran. The sleeves have also been knitted, as well as one front piece. Almost there! Mippe seems to be knitting this, too, from Jaeger Merino.
Lots to do in this project, though. Small pockets and a long cable strip are to be knitted separately and attached to the cardi. The strip skirts the hem and front opening. A moderately sized collar is the last touch. This is a great project, lots of diversity and the bits and pieces are done rather quickly. At least the sleeves will be long enough.

Sain männäviikolla Rowanin Vintage Style-kirjan. Mallit ovat kauniita, stylisti pannut parastaan, usea neule miellyttää. Mutta ne ohjeet.....
MIKSI ei näissä Rowanin malleissa ole kunnon pienoiskaavoja?
Ihan mahdotonta tarkistaa vaikkapa olan leveyttä tai hihan pituutta.
Kuinka tälläisten viitteellisten figuurien perusteella voi kappaleet pingottaa muotoonsa viimeistelyssä, jos nyt sokeasti tekeekin ohjeen mukaan?
Rowanin kirjat/lehdet eivät ole halpoja, pitäisi sillä hinnalla saada rahalleen vastinetta.
Politiikka sikseen, mutta neuleohjeissa Saksa saa douze points, britit zero point. Ja Ranska kans saa tusinan ja Espanjakin, mikäli Phildarin ja Katian ohjelehtiin voi tämän perustaa.
Meitä suomalaisia lellitään yleensä selkeillä kotimaisilla ohjeilla, vai mitä? Eri asia, tykkääkö niistä muuten.
Some ranting about Rowan Vintage Style, which finally arrived last week.
Garments are beautiful, stylists and photographers have really exceeded themselves, there are lots of tempting knits.
But the instructions...
WHY do the Rowan patterns have so lousy diagrams in miniature? And very few charts.
It's quite impossible to check e.g. width of shoulders or sleeve length according these suggestive scribbles. Or let's say You blindly follow the pattern and knit merrily through the garment: how about blocking? Which are the correct measures and shapes You block the pieces into?
Rowan books and mags don't come cheap, You should get lots more in return.
I'll leave Euroknit Contest after this, but British knit mags get zero point versus German ones, which get douze points. Also France and Spain get douze points, thanks to Phildar and Katia.
Our own knit mags aren't bad either in this perspective. To like the styles or not is another cup of tea.
